Apex's manufacturing plant, Aerotight Manufacturing produces custom special turned parts and the popular Aerotight self-locking nut.

In the Company's quest to modernise and meet the ever-growing demand for the self-locking nut, Apex recently invested in new automated CNC machinery at its Leicester production facility. This has revolutionised output, particularly due to the new machines' overnight production capacity. The Citizen Series 3 A20-VII Axis Sliding Head Turning Centre Machine comes complete with a Lemca Boss 338-32 automatic bar loader, swarf conveyor and Wogard Oil Recovery Unit. The new investment has streamlined the production process, reducing the number of separate operations required, as well as requiring less machine down time. It frees up operators capacity to focus on other operations on the facility floor and has resulted in fewer production errors.

Encouraged by these improvements and the machine performance another similar CNC machine has been ordered for delivery in April 2019 and will go live in early 2020.
